A different perspective

This Sunday I attended a Yoga workshop at the NFC, led by Clive Pugsley.  Clive taught weekly classes for several years at the Centre and now comes back for regular workshops.   The NFC is my place of work and I spend a lot of time in the Studio teaching Pilates, because of this I have tended to practice my Yoga elsewhere.Studio View 2

On Sunday I walked along the our beautiful Eastbourne seafront in glorious sunshine and decided to approach my class as if I was a visitor to the Centre rather than the owner.  I was greeted at the door by a friendly face, went up to the warm, cozy studio and popped a mat down on floor.  The sun was streaming through the windows which made the polished wooden floor gleam.  There was a gentle hum of conversation as people where settling down but when we were all lying down and quite I could hear the waves crashing on the beach quite clearly.  Adding to the feeling of relaxation and warmth.Website one

Clive teaches Yin Yang Yoga with a bit of  a Tai Chi influence at the beginning.  A delightful blend of flowing, warming sequences which open up the whole body (Yang).  The second hour is spent in Yin poses which allow the joints and muscles to completely surrender any tightness or stress.

Lying in Savasna, at the end of the 2 hours, once again listening to the waves and feeling the sun from the windows,  I felt more relaxed than I have done since Christmas.  My body felt great and I had a wonderful sense of calm.

As I was leaving the Centre, taking in the sea, boats and fresh air, I thought to myself, why would I want to do Yoga anywhere else?

Sheer Bliss!! – Already booked for the next one.
