I am the founder and director of the Natural Fitness Centre. I have been practicing Yoga and Pilates for many years and have been teaching Pilates since 2004. I very much enjoy teaching all levels and ages and tailor my classes to each group. I enjoy seeing peoples bodies change as they grow stronger and develop a deeper awareness of the connection between mind and body. I always endeavour to explain the reasons behind performing our Pilates exercises and encourage my clients to look at improving functional movement patterns (applying Pilates to every day movement)
I believe in the benefit of keeping up to date with new research and attend regular training courses, this helps me to keep my classes fresh and interesting, whilst maintaining the basic principles and original mat work sequences created by Joseph Pilates.

“My husband and I were looking for a form of exercise that we could do together and which would improve our mobility. My husband is recovering from major surgery on his pelvis and I have osteoporosis, both in our mid fifties we were apprehensive of joining a gym and felt a more personal approach would suit us best. We had been told that the Natural Fitness Centre had a full programme of classes that might help and also offered one to one sessions with a personal trainer. We made an appointment with Alison who listened to our needs and then talked through the various options. We settled on one to one “Pilates” with her, as it’s designed to build core body strength and improve posture. We were not sure what to expect on our first session but needn’t have worried as Alison is extremely caring and patient and made sure we completed each exercise properly before moving forward to more difficult ones. Alison has made the exercise fun and we are becoming fitter and more confident, in fact so confident we have booked a series of group classes.
